"The Devil Made Me Do It" - Rethinking Evil and Sin

(Week 1) Creation: Origin of Evil

Question: Why does God permit evil?
Scripture: Genesis 1:1-5
"In the beginning, when God created the heavens and the earth—and the earth was without form or shape, with darkness over the abyss and a mighty wind sweeping over the waters—Then God said: Let there be light, and there was light. God saw that the light was good. God then separated the light from the darkness. God called the light “day,” and the darkness he called “night.” Evening came, and morning followed—the first day."

Description:
God and "Creation" (the universe) are irreconcilable. They have two divergent ways of existing: God is uni-dimensional, while Creation is multi-dimensional; God's existence is eternal (and unlimited), Creation's is spacio-temporal (and limited). In God, there is only "good;" in Creation, "good" and "evil" coexist. Where did the "evil" come from? How can this be?
